We at the Saltwater Angler wish you a warm and sunny welcome from our little slice of Key West paradise. Thank you for your interest in our Key West Fishing Report for Fishing in Key West and the lower keys!
Migrating Tarpon have settled into a good flow through the lower keys with early morning starts to the west of Key West can pay-off with big hook-ups.
Many Tarpon have been found in the deeper channels through-out Key West harbor just before day break. These schools of Tarpon can be difficult to get them to eat with them usually moving quickly if not feeding on deep dives in the channels.
Remember to pay attention to the multitude of other boats all looking for that hook-up as well. The harbors can get very busy when the large schools of Tarpon are packed in and feeding. The boats don’t always keep an eye out for YOU! If not on fly, captains do well using a 10″ Hogy in bone white or bone/black color.
Good Luck!!!
