Greetings from Key West!
Saltwater Angler has the information for flats fishing in Key West.
Weather will be cooperating this week through the week-end.
Light winds will make for good fly casting. Middle of the day will bring warmer flats, so try hitting deeper ledges or edges of mangrove islands. Bone fishing continues to be Great! Getting out early on the incoming tide should bring you many shots at the Grey Ghost! Just about any shrimp or small crab pattern, if presented right, will trigger a strike.
Not much has changed for Juvenile Tarpon, they are also a good option next to many of the deeper mangrove nurseries along with Jacks and Cudas too.
reports that small Dolphin offshore can still be found. Remember to keep an eye out for feeding birds and packed weed lines holding bait.
Gulf side wrecks 35 miles out are producing big Permit, Mangrove snapper and some Cobia. Good fishing for anyone venturing out with the calmer seas.
